"Citizenship is the chance to make a difference to the place where you belong."
Coffee County Leadership
Coffee County Leadership is a program supported by a partnership between the Tullahoma and Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce.
The highly structured nine-month program presents various opinions and perspectives through lectures, panel presentations, tours, and group activities. A primary goal of these activities is to train persons for leadership and involvement in public affairs and establish communication channels among community leaders.
The curriculum provides for the development of basic, in-depth knowledge of the local educational system, economic and community development, city, and county government, law enforcement, the judicial process, human services, public infrastructure, and quality of life. Team building and creative problem-solving are emphasized.
People who complete the Coffee County Leadership program are expected to have an increased commitment to improving the community through group and individual efforts.
All selected participants must commit 100% to the Coffee County Leadership program. This includes a $400 participating investment and attendance at the class retreat on Sept. 13th, and all program days, which will take place approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month, from October through May. Absenteeism may result in being dropped from the program.
