COFFEE COUNTY LEADERSHIP

Coffee County Leadership is a personal development program designed to educate participants about community dynamics and issues.  Graduates are encouraged to apply their newly gained knowledge and leadership skills to addressing the needs of the community and finding ways to improve the economic well-being and quality of life in Coffee County and the surrounding region.

The highly structured ten-month program presents a wide range of opinions and perspectives through lectures, panel presentations, tours and group activities.  A primary goal of these activities is to train persons for leadership and involvement in public affairs and to establish channels of communication among community leaders.

The curriculum provides for the development of basic, as well as in-depth, knowledge of the local educational system, economic and community development, city and county government, law enforcement, the judicial process, human services, public infrastructure and quality of life.  Team building and creative problem solving is emphasized.

It is expected that persons who complete the Coffee County Leadership program will have an increased commitment to improving the community through group and individual efforts.
